Just found this slideshow on some bad cycle lanes. No surprise that they are all in the UK. The rhetoric of encouraging people to cycle must be balanced with effective infrastructure. And the road laws must reflect this and protect cyclists. We have a lot to learn from the Dutch.

    These “cycle lanes” that you talk of intrigue me. I’m not sure Sydney (aka Toll Town) is even close to starting the journey down that path of a co-ordinated network of bike lanes; I’m sure that when we do get our act together cyclists will be slugged $5 each leg of the journey and some new kind of tax imposed. Love this city.
